After the three Liga days Higuaín has penetrated the goals of Valencia, Getafe and Granada. Down through the history of Real Madrid, 12 players prior to the Argentinian have accomplished this start of season record. Pahino, Puskas, Rial, Amancio or Santillana are some of the club legends who have been emulated by Higuaín, who is taking the baton from his colleague Cristiano Ronaldo.
Scoring on the first three days of the Liga is a feat which has been accomplished by 13 players in the history of Real Madrid. The first to manage it was Gaspar Rubio in the 1929-30 season, proving that he was one of the great football stars of the time and finishing the season with 19 goals.

Other great Madrid scorers such as Pahino, Sanudo, Puskas, Amancio, Santillana and Cristiano Ronaldo have also managed to score in the first three Liga matches. The Portuguese was the last to have accomplished this in the 2009-10 season, when he began his trajectory as a Real Madrid player scoring against Deportivo de La Coruña , Espanyol and a double goal against Xerez.

Mejías: "We have to be strong at home and win every match to get the points"

"Going out onto the field and seeing all the fans who come to support is great for us" added the Whites’ goalkeeper

Tomás Mejías

Castilla’s second consecutive match day at the Alfredo Di Stéfano, a stadium in which the Whites perform their best and show their opponents how just strong they are. Two wins from two home matches is how the Whites have started the season and tomorrow they hope to extend this energetic start against Sabadell (21:00, Marca TV). They face a tough opponent that comes in high spirits following two wins in their previous matches. "In the Second Division all teams are tough opponents and Sabadell come to us off of the back of two very good matches. There is no room to relax, we need to play well and keep fighting" said Mejías.
"We have to be strong at home and win every match to get the points." It is clear and simple for Castilla’ goalkeeper Mejías, who is aware of the great strength and quality shown by his team in home matches, where they have two wins so far, against Barcelona B and Xerez, both with the same scoreline (3-2). Against the Andalusian team they reacted will in turning around a deficit in the second half. "It's a good sign because when you go behind the match gets tougher and coming back like that leaves a good taste in your mouth"admitted the goalkeeper.

Mejías knows that the task ahead of the B team is to improve on their defensive solidity at the set pieces to avoid conceding: "With concentration and with the work we are doing at the moment everything will come good". Tomorrow they will host Sabadell, a team that has one of the division’s top scorers, Hannibal, and that is amongst those with the least conceded so the Whites need be alert and concentrated to get the three points: "In the Second Division all teams are tough opponents and Sabadell come to us off of the back of two very good matches. There is no room to relax, we need to play well and keep fighting" A plus point is the support of the home fans who are very committed to their team and help to keep clocking up the wins at home: "Going out onto the field and seeing all the fans who come to support is great for us".

Casillas: “It would be a dream come true to end my career in the club I had the privilege of starting out in when I was only nine”

“Time goes by quickly, but I'm really pleased with all the things that Real Madrid has given me and all that I've given the club”, said the Whites' captain 13 years to the day after his official debut

Alberto Navarro
It has been 13 years since Iker Casillas made his debut in an official Real Madrid match. The White's captain has picked up many memories and titles during his time at the top, but the Real Madrid keeper is looking to the future and only thinks about ending his sporting career in the team that saw him develop as a fooballer: “It would be a dream come true to end my career in the club. I had the privilege of starting out in when I was only nine. Time goes quickly, but I'm really pleased with all the things that Real Madrid has given me and all that I've given the club. Now you realise that 13 years have gone by and you hope that there'll be many more. My contract is until I'm 36 and my dream is to retire when I'm 39”.
It's 13 years to the day since your first official match with Real Madrid. I imagine that you must have a lot of memories that spring to mind.
It was a special day because it was my debut in San Mamés and in Real Madrid on an official level. I'm happy because I never thought that I would be here so long, even though it was my dream. The years go by quickly, but I'm really pleased with all the things that Real Madrid has given me and all that I've given the club.
What's your favourite memory from all this time at the top?
Without a doubt, the first European Cup I won. It was really special and unique for me because in ten months I went from playing in Real Madrid C, in the Third Division, to playing a Champions League final. It's the title I'm most fond of. I have other great memories too, such as those of my second European Cup and the various Ligas that we've won.
With performances like those you became known as the saint. Now with 13 years behind you and the captain's armband, you're both saint and symbol of the club.
Out of all my teammates here I'm the most veteran player in terms of seasons with the club. I don't know about being the saint and symbol, but what is true is that being the most veteran player I have a big responsibility in terms of the others. I always planned to progress little by little and I remember teammates from back then such as Hierro and Sanchís who told me that at 18 or 19 I had a huge career ahead of me. Now you realise that 13 years have gone by, which is a lot of memories, and you hope that there'll be many more.
You're wearing the training shirt with Higuaín's number 20 and I imagine that you'd like to spend at least 20 more years in the club. What goals have you set yourself for the future?
I'd love that to be the case and to spend 20 more years with the club. ‘El Pipa’ gave me the shirt for this interview and it would be a dream come true and a real joy to end my career in the club I had the privilege of starting out in when I was only nine. My contract is until I'm 36 and my dream is to retire when I'm 39. I'm also aware that it's more and more difficult, they demand more from you. You always have to set the bar higher and now people don't allow you to lower your standards. It's an added responsibility for me.

Real Madrid are continuing with their preparations for the match against Sevilla on Saturday, which will be the fourth league fixture of the season (10:00pm; Spanish Channel Canal + 1). Celebración 32ª liga

Javier Garcia
Match day three 1999/2000. Illgner, injured and Bizarri with shoulder strain gave way to the academy player who, at 18 years old, had completed the pre-season with the first team during the summer. The mission was not easy, the stage wasn’t either. He had to defend Real Madrid’s goal in the stronghold that is San Mamés. But Casillas showed an unprecedented level of awareness and assuredness for his age, and had a great performance and laid the foundations for a career full of success and recognition. He is now celebrating his thirteenth anniversary with 630 games behind him and with an enviable track record and a long road ahead.
A lifetime in white. Casillas joined in the academy in 1990 and nine seasons later, 12th September 1999, he landed himself in the first team to stay. Last year, in the twelfth anniversary of his debut, the captain recalled how he lived: "Before travelling to Bilbao, Toshack asked me how I was. I said fine and he said perfect, you’re going to play at San Mamés. I started to get nervous and called my parents to tell them. That night I shared a room with Hierro, but I left him alone so he had peace and quiet. I went from playing the playoff for promotion to the Second Division B to being in San Mamés in front of 50,000 people. It was not easy, but for the first time I did well. I was one of the better players".

At 31 years old, Casillas has played 630 official matches with Real Madrid and there are only Raúl, Sanchís and Santillana ahead of him in the record books. In his 13 years he has won the most prestigious titles. Two Champions League, two Intercontinental Cups, five league titles, one Copa del Rey, one European Super Cups and three Spanish Super Cups is his tally with the club. He has also won the World Cup and two European Championships with Spain.

Apart from his leadership as captain, he has earned the praise and respect of everyone thanks to his agility and reflexes in goal. The wonderful saves in the final minutes of the ninth Champions League title win and the save against Robben in the World Cup in South Africa will always stay etched in the minds of his fans. Also, the Real Madrid’s next destination has been a tough place to go, the Sánchez Pizjuán. There Casillas made two of the best saves that he remembers. An impossible two-handed save against Perotti in 2009 and one against Manu del Moral last year. These actions perpetuate the legend of a goalkeeper who, thirteen years after its debut, is considered the best in the world for the fourth consecutive season.

Real Madrid Castilla - Xerez

The Real Madrid B team, who will play their third home match on Friday, have won against Barcelona B and Xerez at the Di Stéfano and average almost four goals per match in the last six matches
Javier Garcia
Real Madrid Castilla will host Sabadell in match day five of the Liga Adelante. A match in which the Whites will attempt to extend their perfect home start to the season. So far, Barcelona B and Xerez have lost by the same score (3-2) in their visits to the Alfredo Di Stéfano. The last time they won the first two games at home was in 2004/05 season, the last promotion to the Second Division.
Morata said following the match against Xerez: "The home games will have given us a lot of points by the end of the season". Castilla will use their strength in the Alfredo Di Stéfano to try to achieve the best possible finish in their return to the Second Division. Up until now they have not noticed the change in level and have won all their home matches so far, something that had not been done for seven years.

It has been over nine months since the Castilla lost a match at home. They have put together a run of 11 wins and four draws which includes the second half of last season, the play-offs and the start of this season. Also, Toril’s players have scored at least three goals in the last six matches at the Di Stéfano (Marino de Luanco, Vecindario, Cádiz, Mirandés, Barcelona B and Xerez) with an average of 3.66 per match.
